This overview helps you prepare for installation. Always follow the instructions supplied with your specific fixture and applicable local electrical requirements.
Safety firstHardwired lighting should be installed by a qualified electrician when required. Turn off power at the breaker and verify the circuit is de-energized before electrical work.
Unpack and identify components
Lay out the canopy, mounting hardware, chain or cables, fixture body, crystals or decorative parts and included fasteners. Compare everything with the product instructions.
Set the intended hanging height
Adjust chain, cable or rods before final assembly where possible. For tall foyers and staircases, verify the lowest point from both floor levels.
Mount and connect
Secure the mounting bracket, make electrical connections according to the fixture instructions and local code, then attach the canopy and fixture body.
Install crystals, shades and bulbs
Add decorative components in the sequence shown in the product instructions. Use only the specified bulb base, wattage and compatible dimming setup.
Final inspection
Check that all fasteners are secure, decorative parts are balanced, wires are enclosed and the fixture is stable before restoring power.
